YAY new book!
Hi people ! My thoughts are, that so far Cathrine seems controlling over her brother, because I don't think she understands fully what her brother is going through, It's not his fault its genetics, and some of the rules she gives him are actually very hard and some don't seem like they're for David, but herself like "you have to work with what you get "and part of it kind of could be more about David but it seems that its directed to Cathrine and she wrote these rules herself which shows that she's controlling herself not just David and she also seems like a perfectionist a little bit like trying to make David perfect when he's not, no brother is and when meeting the new girl she needs every thing to be perfect too like the barbecue they were suppose to have . But back to the controlling she wanted the girl next door to be like she Imagined Morse code with flashlights and coming over every day but the only thing preventing her from having normal friends was David that's why she's so controlling .

Hey Dylyn,
ReplyDeleteVery insightful. I really appreciate the quote and think you could describe a little more why that quote demonstrates the controlling part of Catherine. I agree that the rules seem to be more for her benefit then for David's. How do you think her meeting Jason will impact her relationship with David? This is always I question I have when reading this book.
Thanks for the great blog!

ReplyDeleteI think with that rule it says before it "but I have rules too and one of mine is..." so the rule wasn't for David.
I think a lot of her rules could be for any person in fact all of them could some point in time! When we were little we didn't know any better that to pull down our pant's did we?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you (all) I think when we make rules in general we are using them for ourselves.
